I learned the standard for my work in a church service, not a studio. Watching people give their absolute best to something that would never get applause taught me what excellence actually is: honor made visible.
Perfectionism is about how you look. Excellence is about who you're doing it for. One keeps you anxious and hidden. The other makes you free to ship, learn, and go again.
So I run the same standard on a Daystar broadcast, a podcast edit, and a client deck. Not because everything is equally important — but because the God I'm doing it for is the same in every room.
